The Anglo-Austrian Society

The Anglo-Austrian Society was founded in 1944 by friends of Austria. The Society's aim is to promote cross-cultural links between the people of the United Kingdom and Austria by developing the knowledge of the British People about Austria, its people and culture, with the participation of Austrians resident in Britain. The Society enjoys the active support of the governments of both Austria and the United Kingdom.

The Society is registered as a Charity. Members, many of whom are of Austrian origin, come from all walks of life and all age groups. Membership is open to anyone interested in its objectives and activities; both individual and corporate members are welcome.

The Society seeks to provide a balanced programme of events of interest to its members. These take the form of informative lectures, concerts, exhibitions and social gatherings. It publishes a quarterly journal “Felix Austria” covering all aspects of life and culture in Austria.
